Jamf Pro has been widely used by organizations across the globe to manage their Apple devices with ease and efficiency. Users have praised the software for its ability to streamline device management, ensuring compliance with company security policies and providing superb support. With Jamf Pro, users have successfully managed unmanaged macOS devices and migrated Intune managed macOS devices, making it effortless to maintain a secure and maintainable fleet of Apple devices.
One of the key use cases of Jamf Pro is its capability to manage productivity applications such as Office 365 suite apps, VPN, Google Chrome, NoMAD, and other business apps in real time. This has allowed users to enhance productivity by easily accessing intranet sites and utilizing essential tools without any hassle. Additionally, the software has enabled efficient management of admin rights process on macOS, providing organizations with the necessary control over user privileges.
Another notable use case of Jamf Pro is its role in managing a worldwide fleet of MacBook Pro laptops. By eliminating the need for manual configuration, Jamf Pro has saved valuable time and effort while providing a personalized touch to each Mac user. The Self-Service component of the software has been particularly helpful, allowing users to access software packages and scripts from anywhere in the world, 24/7.
Furthermore, Jamf Pro has proven effective in managing large numbers of devices, offering seamless deployment and consistent management regardless of their location. The software's in-depth reporting and management capabilities have provided organizations with accurate inventory management and ensured compliance with security and compliance requirements. It has also simplified onboarding processes by ensuring Macs are compliant to security standards and providing a default set of software for new users.
Overall, Jamf Pro has been highly valued by users for its intuitive and powerful management capabilities. It has proven useful across various industries such as education, healthcare, marketing/design, construction, and more. Users appreciate its cost-effectiveness in lifecycle management and its ability to save time and effort in device setup and deployment. With its extensive features and efficient management capabilities, Jamf Pro has established itself as a preferred MDM solution for Apple devices.
Easy Creation and Deployment Process: Users find the software package creation and deployment process to be easy, increasing their effectiveness in delivering computers. Several reviewers have mentioned that they appreciate the simplicity of creating and deploying software packages, making it a user-friendly experience.
Excellent Support: The software provides excellent support, as indicated by multiple users who have had positive experiences with the support team. They value the timely assistance provided by the support team and consider them valuable resources for Apple administrators.
Remote Management Capabilities: The remote management capabilities of the software are highly appreciated by users. It allows them to handle tasks such as remote application installs and remote deployment easily. This feature has been mentioned by several reviewers as a significant benefit of using the software.
Confusing and Difficult to Navigate: Several users have expressed frustration with the user interface of Jamf Pro, finding it confusing and difficult to navigate. They have mentioned that this hinders their ability to perform tasks efficiently. Some users also struggle to locate certain settings within the software. Lack of Intuitiveness: Users believe that the UI of Jamf Pro is not intuitive unless they already know where to go. They feel that the wording of UI descriptions has caused confusion and that some elements in the admin console are confusing as well. Additionally, there is a perception among users that the user interface focuses more on looks than functionality. Limited Functionality: Users have mentioned several limitations in terms of functionality. They have stated that some previously working UI functionality is no longer working or has been removed. The lack of a Dark Theme and the inability to immediately jump to a script from a policy are disappointing for some users. They also feel that there should be easier ways to set up templates for policies and scripts, and that scripting and creating filters for searching are difficult. Overall, there is a consensus among users about these common cons regarding the user interface of Jamf Pro - it being confusing and difficult to navigate, lacking intuitiveness, and having limited functionality.

Jamf Pro is a reliable and imminently useful MDM
- Jamf Pro's Self Service is a great mechanism for making software available to end uses as they need it.
- Jamf Pro is also great for creating plans called PreStage Enrollments that allow for computers to skip many of the setup screens, as well as automating account creation.
- Jamf Pro in combination with Apple Automated Device Enrollment (formerly DEP) allows for devices to supervised and managed, this combination allows for locking, remote wipe of devices, and finding locations of devices when put into lost mode.
- Jamf Pro has made great strides in patch management, but it's still not as smooth as it could be.
- Jamf Pro needs a better mechanism for enforcing computer and device names, as well as setting names when devices are brought in, in an automated manner.
- As we wait for Jamf Pro to include the Remote Desktop functionality in the management page for devices, depreciating Jamf Remote and shifting to Team Viewer was not appreciated. It feels like a long wait.
Jamf Pro - A Must for Mac Admins
- Zero Touch Enrolments
- Application Deployment and Updates
- macOS Updates and Upgrades
- Zero Day Support for all new releases
- Always aligned with Apple RoadMaps
- Patch Management is better now but something where Jamf can improve and I see it in their roadmaps which is coming in near future.
Jamf the best MDM for Apple product on the market.
- Software distribution
- Locking out computers for compliance
- Helps with current inventory
- Self Service and the integration with the Apple Apple store has it's issues.
- Self Service banner does not scale.
- A built in script editor would be nice.

Key functions we rely on heavily are
- Automated Device Enrollment for initial deployment of both end-user machines and Zoom Room conferencing Mac Mini's
- Automatic and self-service software distribution both on and off-network
- AWS integration
- Managed Apple software update; point releases and security updates
- Self-serve OS upgrade in-place via Self Service
- VPP app distribution
- FileVault disk encryption
- Various reporting
- Automatic printer configuration via Self Service
- Configuration Profiles for a variety of managed preference settings
- OS upgrade in-place via Self-Service
- Zero day support for most new Apple features
- Jamf [Pro]'s overall framework that allows for a wide variety of integrations and custom problem-solving solutions via policies, scripting, MDM, etc
- While already in progress, the Configuration Profile editor is a little unwieldy
- User dialog messaging. While Jamf [Pro] helper is very useful, a more feature-rich utility with editor functions would be extremely welcomed to interact with the user while installing software.
- Policies: I would desperately like to see the ability to organize the order of packages and scripts within a policy without needing to use names, numbers, and 'priority'. Just let me drag items in a policy around in order.
- Policies: scripts can only be run before or after, please let me place them in between packages
We have to support a fairly large global workforce and be prepared for small and large acquisitions and divestitures at any time. With that in mind, a full-featured best in class product like Jamf Pro sets us up for continued success no matter what our existing business or future businesses demand of us.

A must-have for your Apple Devices!
Building out the profiles took minutes and getting the devices configured and deployed took less that 72 hours. That's 2500 patients with instant access to their friends and family. This would not have been possible without Jamf in our lives. Having worked with several MDMs in the past, Jamf is by far the most user-friendly. What takes days in other MDMs, Jamf can do in hours and their support community is second to none. I would highly recommend Jamf to anyone looking for a way to modernize their mobile device management!

Doing the Happy Jamf Pro Dance

- Deploy apps with little or no delay
- Keeping up with the ever changing apple OS features
- The Jamf community is really responsive in helping each other out
- As a new user it is hard to remember where certain features are in the over all system set up page. A search feature would be really helpful.
- Don't just give an enable Remote Desktop command. build in a Remote Desktop session to allow Helpdesk techs to use instead of needing to launch a 3rd party app.
- Detailed view of Mac computers and devices
- Ability to push out apps and configurations based on department needs
- Control how macOS updates are handled
- Preconfigure settings to make deployments more efficient
- Lose of support for Jamf Remote

Jamf Pro for efficient Pro-formance
- Jamf Pro offers great customer support.
- The Jamf Pro UX is hands-down the most intuitive MDMs that I have used.
- Jamf Pro allows for easy management with no hidden upgrades within their service required to access greater functionality. You pay for a full product and get a full product. That said, there is a premium, but you still get full management at Pro.
- The UX offers a slick design, but no offer of customization. For my IT director, it is too dark, for me, it is too light.
- Occasionally, you have to work your way through the support professionals to get one who knows how to fix your rare-bird, extremely unlikely to ever repeat in another user issue that you somehow managed to find.
- Scalability in costs so that I can justify putting Mac on there as well. We have a bunch of Macs roaming campus free of an MDM, and what little I want to manage does not justify the cost.
- Jamf Nation - valuable information, tips, tricks and resources to go to when you might have issues. Often times the issue you are facing, isn't something new at all. There are always others who have run into it and can provide valuable insight to resolving. If it is something completely new, you have a plethora of other admins at your disposal who are able to quickly assist you.
- Integrated patch management - easy to keep your software up to date on devices.
- I think one of the big ones is automated device naming for Computers. You can do this via mobile devices in the pre-stage but not Computers. Having the ability to assign devices to a specific pre-stage enrollment group and having said group identify all systems via a specific prefix/suffix would benefit us a lot and keep a better consistency when it comes to users' machine names.
- Improved Patch Management - This is in the works, I know, but having access to more applications or even improving the method to organizing/configuring patch management will be beneficial. Currently, it's a painful process to set it up.
- Support for devices outside of Mac. A lot of Org's are looking to merge their fleet into a single MDM and while Jamf is the best I've used for Apple devices, having more functionality for devices outside of the Apple universe would benefit it in the eyes of other Org's.

One Stop Solution to manage Apple devices
We want to manage unmanaged macOS devices using Jamf Pro Cloud Solution. Secondly we want to migrate Intune managed macOS devices to Jamf Pro. We would like to comply with our company security policies that we achieved using CIS Benchmarks.
We want to manage productivity applications as of Office 365 suite apps, VPN, Google Chrome, NoMAD and other business apps as required in real time.
Our users want to access intranet sites that we were able to achieve smoothly.
Finally we are able to manage admin rights process on macOS.
- Self Service is the one stop solution for end user.
- Configuration profiles are best friend to implement CIS Benchmarks, PPPC, Office apps customization, restriction and many other cool features.
- Composer is the my best friend to create any complex package, its super easy to use.
- Jamf inbuilt FileVault is super straight forward and doesn’t require lot of mathematics calculation to implementation.
- Jamf Support is super helpful, professional and all the engineers are very nice to dealt with.
- KnowledgeBase Articles should be introduced in Jamf Pro.
- Light and Dark background feature should be included while login to Jamf Pro.
- Jamf training curriculum need to be revisit specially Jamf 400 Expert exam.
- Jamf should give the option to download individual device policy logs that will be really help to diagnose the issue.
- Jamf Reset app is super duper cool but it’s only available only for iOS , likewise we should have Jamf reset app on macOS.
Very First thing is we got the way to manage all unmanaged macOS devices across the globe, which was achieved through Jamf Pro Cloud. Jamf is stable, reliable, secure and you have lot of option to customize the stuff.
We are able to integrate with centralized third party apps without any issues, this is kind of win win situation for us.
Software and Hardware Inventory is one of the key and important factor when it comes for Inventory Management. Advance Search Reporting is very powerful feature of Jamf Pro Cloud and good part is you can also utilize Jamf Pro Classic API with it
Buyer Beware of Handholding Promises From Onboarding
- Data loss prevention tools.
- Implementation of password management.
- Paying for hand holding support is a JOKE.
- Assumes a basic level of knowledge to use product.
- Training is through self-service ONLY.
Great product to manage your macOS fleet in your enterprise
- Use of Internal API in scripts. With the API you can do wonderful things to automate your deployment and create a wonderful enduser experience.
- Use of scripts in policies to automate your deployment.
- Use of the Apple MDM commands to get everything out of it.
- The integrated patch feature is good, but needs some tweaking. As of now, there is no option for the user to defer the installation of a patch. You can either give them the option to install the patch through self service (which needs an active part of the user to do it) or you can force the installation. However with the force of the installation, there is potential data loss, because an App which you want to patch needs to be closed for it to work. The info about that the app will be closed for patching is almost not noticeable for the user.
- Therefore we do no use the integrated patch management technology and build our own logic to work around it.
Jamf Pro, an excellent balanced MDM for Apple Devices
- Device enrollment
- Configuration profiles
- User deployment
- Software deployment and updates
- Patch management
- Setup interface
- Reporting functions
